Project 5- the hasenberg tower
In 1943 the Hasenberg tower was destroyed to ruin the orientation of attacking planes.
The competition of the “Association for Verschoenerung Stuttgart e.V” invited students to think about an idea, which in integration with constructive resources and knowledge that are available nowadays, was to plan a new tower in the west of Stuttgart.
The wish of much prospective and little material motivated us to choose a construction according to Wladimir Grigorjewitsch Schuchow.
The tower with its 48m has as carrying structure two against each other 90 degrees twisted support cover, which generates a wrapping of the cover and thus builds the form of the hyperboloiden.
The eight platforms change their base with the wrapping of the support but offers the visitors a fantastic view from the top.
